Lifestyle Behaviours among Postmenopausal Women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan

Objective: To assess the level of adherence to health promoting behaviors among postmenopausal women in Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted Basic Health Units Abbottabad from May December 2019. All whose menstrual cycle stopped 12 months back were included study. An adopted questionnaire Promoting Lifestyle Profile II used for lifestyle behavior assessment. Overall score ranges 52-208, where 25-103 means “Low”, 104-155 “Moderate” and 156-208 “High” behaviors. Level further categorized into two categories, i.e., “moderate” labelled as “adequate” while “low” “inadequate” behavior.Results: Of 369 women, adequate observed 183 (49.6%) women. Adequate 4.68 times significantly higher <45 years menopausal age (aOR 4.68, 95% CI 1.66–13.18), 87% lower illiterate 0.13, 0.07–0.25), 96% with ≤20,000 rupees family income 0.04, 0.01–0.42), 91% in-between 20,000–50,000 0.09, 0.07–1.54), 56% husbands 0.44, 0.25–0.78).Conclusion: There is a need work on particularly targeting low socioeconomic status.
